Our workers are an integral part of our sale, so we offer lots of great perks to reward them for their participation, including early shopping privileges, the chance to earn a higher percentage payout for their sales, shopping discounts, and MORE! We hope you will consider helping us for a few hours!
**You do not have to be a consignor to help during our event. In fact, many of our shoppers help us for a few hours, so they can shop BEFORE we open to the public, for the very best deals!**
We depend on our wonderful helpers to help make Snuggle Bugs & Company events such a pleasant shopping and consigning experience. We hope you will consider working a few hours with us at our next event!
We have Three Options:
You may work a three-hour shift and come to the Worker Presale,
You may work TWO shifts of three hours (a total of 6 hours) and come to the Early Worker Presale, or
You may become part of 'Team Snuggle Bugs' and work a minimum of 20 hours. You will receive even more benefits, including even earlier shopping privileges, your choice of a higher percentage payout (consignors only) OR a shopping discount, an invitation to contribute an additional 100 items to the event, and several chances to win drawings for fabulous prizes!
** Bonus Shifts **
Get even MORE out of your time with us! The "Item Sort" that is completed at the end of the sale is a fun time to work, and a time that we typically find ourselves understaffed. The Item Sort will take place on Sunday, September 21st and involves sorting out the items that will be returned to our consignors. We will be awarding DOUBLE credit for shifts worked during this time. Each shift worked during this time will count as 2 shifts for purposes of determining percentage payouts, shopping discounts, raffle entries, etc. This is the ONLY shift that will be counted as double. **Due to the limited number of these shifts and their popularity, each volunteer can work ONE double shift.**
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the re-stock work? How do I know when to bring my items in? In an effort to accommodate as many consignors as possible and to offer our shoppers even more great items to purchase, we have decided to do a re-stock of inventory once the event has begun. ALL data entry, regardless of your assigned Drop-Off date will need to be completed by 5:00pm on Friday, September 5th. We will be able to accommodate 400 consignors for this event. The first 250 consignors will drop their items off on Tuesday, September 9th. The next 150 consignors will be assigned a drop off of Monday, September 15th. Both groups will have a great opportunity to sell their items. We will invite all shoppers to tell their friends about the event and to come back and see all of the great new things we will be getting in. Since so many of our shoppers have asked us for this in the past, we know that our shoppers will be very excited about the opportunity to stop back and see our new inventory! Consignors and volunteers will have the opportunity to preview the new items at a presale event to be held Tuesday, September 16th. It is in your best interest to sign up as soon as possible for this event. We will be scheduling drop off dates on a first come-first serve basis.
Do I have to work in order to consign? No. You will still earn your Consignor Presale privileges and will earn 60% of your sales. By working with us for just one shift, however, your payout percentage will be boosted to 70% of your sales!
Do I have to consign in order to work at the event? No. We welcome as much help as we can get and we really appreciate the wonderful contributions that everyone makes to our events. Shoppers who would like to earn early shopping privileges may work a few hours with us and shop before we open to the public. Shoppers who are able to contribute additional time to our event can become part of Team Snuggle Bugs and also earn a 10% shopping discount!
What will I receive in exchange for my time?
Working one 3-hour shift will qualify you to shop at the "Worker Presale". Consignors will also earn a 10% increase in their payout (from 60% to 70%) of their sales. Workers will get (1) drawing entry for each shift worked and will be eligible to shop at the Half-Price Presale.
Working two 3-hour shifts (for a total of 6 hours) will qualify you to shop at the "Early Worker Presale," which starts even earlier. Consignors will receive a ticket for each shift to enter into our drawings. Drawing prizes will include: an 80% payout and various gift certificates and gift baskets provided by our advertisers.
Working as part of Team Snuggle Bugs (minimum 20 hours) will earn you an automatic 80% of your sales OR a 10% shopping discount, a special Presale time to enjoy the first pick of all the great items on our sales floor, an invitation to contribute an additional 100 items to the event, and (10) entries in our drawings, as mentioned above.
*ALL workers will receive a pass for ONE friend to attend the Guest Presale. To be fair to everyone, guests will not be allowed to shop until the Guest Presale begins on Friday September 12th.
*For EACH 3-hour shift you work, you will get ONE additional entry in our drawings as mentioned above.
*The Half-Price Presale is available to every worker, regardless of the number of shifts worked.
May I work before the sale? Yes. We are always looking for help publicizing the sale, passing out fliers, posting signs, setting up racks and tables, and more. If you would like to do something prior to the sale, please let us know so that we can note the locations where you will be distributing information and give you credit for your time. There are a limited number of opportunities available.
What if my schedule doesn't allow me to work the shift exactly as it is offered? We understand that busy Moms have crazy schedules and that our shifts may not always fit in perfectly with their schedules. With this in mind, we would still require the same number of hours per shift (to make sure that we are fair to everyone), but the start time and end time may vary. We would want to make arrangements in advance for any shifts that deviate from the posted schedule.
May I bring my children with me during my shift? No. It will be too difficult for you to work and watch little ones at the same time. If you have extenuating circumstances, please let us know. Helpers who are nursing small infants may bring the baby (because of obvious safety concerns, you would need to select a shift that we are closed to the public). NO CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED IF YOU ARE WORKING DURING THE PUBLIC SALE.
I have small children and cannot work at the event itself. Can I still participate? Yes. While we will need plenty of help during the event itself, there are several shifts that do not require you to be physically on-site. These opportunites include publicity shifts, working at a promotional event on our behalf during the summer (when it is easier to get daytime sitters), providing meals for our helpers during the event, distributing flyers, posting signs, etc. There are a number of these shifts available, but they will fill quickly, so please be sure to sign-up as soon as possible! Evening and weekend shifts may also be a good fit, when it is easier to have a sitter or your spouse take the kids.
What days/times are shifts available? Shifts are available before the event bgins, during the event, and after the event. There are hundreds of shifts to choose from.
What if I need to change my shift? Please notify us right away if you must reschedule or cancel your shift. Any changes or cancellations should be made as far in advance as possible, since we are really counting on everyone to be there for the shifts they have signed up for. We don't have any recruits to call in at a moment's notice.
What will happen if I do not complete my scheduled shift? If you sign up for one or more shifts, we are counting on you to follow through. In the event that a person does not fulfill their obligation, or find a comparable replacement, they will not be allowed to participate as a worker again, and will not be allowed to participate in any future presale event. Please understand that these guidelines have been put in place to maintain a high quality sale. With that said, we are reasonable people and we know that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances involved. We will work with you (within a set of consistent guidelines -- so we are fair to everyone) if you are interested in working with us again and are willing to contribute make-up shifts for time owed.
What does a "Publicity" shift entail? Publicity shifts can take two forms: Flyers -- If you are willing to hand out at least 100 flyers, you will receive credit for one 3-hour shift. Flyers should be distributed directly to other Moms. We are not allowed to put them on car windshields in parking lots. Great places to hand out flyers include elementary schools, preschools, summer camps, dance classes, daycare centers, Mom's groups, play areas in the Mall--anywhere that Moms are.
Signs -- If you are willing to post at least 30 tear-off flyers on bulletin boards around town (at the grocery store, the bookstore, convenience marts, doctor's offices, preschools, childcare centers, elementary schools, churches, businesses, etc.), you will receive credit for one 3-hour shift.
Please Note: While there are set date and times for the publicity shifts on the schedule, we hope to distribute information as soon as possible. The sooner everyone hears about the event, the better!
How do meal shifts work? Our helpers get hungry when they have been helping us all day. If you can provide a meal that will serve 8 to 10 people, you will earn credit for one 3-hour shift.
Ideas for lunchtime meals include: - Brown bag lunches with a sandwich (PB&J or cold cuts), an apple, and a bag of chips - A big hoagie that feeds several people - Chilled pasta salad (no mayo) - Wraps
Ideas for dinner meals include: - A pan of lasagna- Sandwiches - Pizza - Meatball hoagies
Most importantly, the food that is provided should be either at room temperature, or able to be eaten when it is hot or after it has cooled. Since everyone will be working, we will not all eat at the same time. It is also important to steer clear of any foods that require refrigeration (no mayo-based salads, sandwiches should offer condiments in packets, etc.), so it will be safe to eat over several hours. Many of the items typically prepared for a picnic or buffet would work well.
*Please bring food items in disposable containers whenever possible. If you bring your food items in containers that are not disposable, please plan to pick up your dish later that evening or early the next day.
Have a question that we didn't address? Please e-mail us at SnuggleBugsConsignment@yahoo.com and we will answer any questions that you might have. We look forward to working with you!

Here is how you can help us out...
Before, During, and After the Sale... We will need help setting up, working with customers during the sale, and breaking down afterwards. There are plenty of shifts to choose from! Click here to view the schedule.
Dads We need dads who will help with set-up and break-down. When dads work, their wives love it because they get to shop early! Dads who work a three-hour shift during set-up or break-down will receive one presale pass that either of you can use to shop. To get the very first pick of ALL the hottest items, plan to shop at the Early Worker Presale! You and your husband can work as a team and split the 6 hours, each of you working a three-hour shift. Because some of our lovely helpers may be expecting and unable to work a shift, we will allow your spouse to work two shifts on your behalf, so you can attend the Early Worker Presale and get first dibs on all of the great items! Put your husbands to work--it will help prepare them for what fatherhood has in store! This offer is only for spouses.
Flyer Distribution Handing out at least 100 flyers, you will count as a 3-hour shift. Contact Leigh Levy with the places that you would like to take them -- doctor's offices, preschools, childcare centers, elementary schools, churches, businesses, etc. If you need more than 100, please let us know. The more people who know about our event, the more successful it will be for EVERYONE.
Sign Posting Placement of at least 30 posters in your area will count as one 3-hour shift. We will have indoor 8 1/2 by 11 of posters and can supply you with as many as you will need to blanket the town! :) Postings are most effectively placed at schools, childcare centers, child activity centers, churches, and anywhere that families will see them.
The more exposure we have, the more shoppers we will get, and the more $$ our consignors will make!
Printing Printing or copying of 1000 fliers will count as one 3-hour shift.
If you can help with any of the items listed above, please call Leigh Levy at (412) 832-0642 or send an e-mail to snugglebugsconsignment@yahoo.com.
